Cake & Ice Cream

Today we celebrated Larry's birthday! We cooked hamburgers & hot dogs on the grill. I made his favorite cake...home-made red velvet cake with cream cheese icing! Yum! Yum! We also had brownies, chocolate chip & white chocolate & macadamia nut cookies for the kids! Oh, and also...Blue Bell ice cream!

The kids gave him some sweet b-day cards and presents...

Happy Anniversary

Happy "38th" Anniversary (Oct. 6, 1971) & "59th" Birthday (Oct.9, 1950)to my husband Larry Smith Sr...

Wow...38 years! That's a long time! It's been 38 years of giving 100 % from both of us! It has been 38 years of daily making the decision to see this marriage through! Yes, it's hard work sometimes but worth it all in the long run...to have your children "thank you" for staying together when marriages are falling apart all around you, to have them "thank you" for giving them a stable & loving home, to have them "thank you" for always being there when they needed you! And now, to have the grandkids doing the same! So, has it been worth it? Yes, it's been worth it!

We were married on Oct. 6th, 1971 (3 days before his birthday) he would turn 21yrs old! My dad wasn't quite sure about this young man who suddenly came into our lives to take his daughter away but before long they became very good friends and loved each other so much! They had many, many fun times together! Lots of stories...lots of memories!

I am so thankful for my husband! He loves the Lord with all his heart and he loves me unconditionally! He has been a good husband & a wonderful friend!

He has a quiet, gentle spirit. He is a honest, humble man and is very dedicated to his family!

He is a faithful, loving husband, a wonderful father and super-great paw-paw

He is a christian, a peacemaker and a very, very hard worker

He is kind, trustworthy and a friend to many

He is a fantastic gardener - has a green thumb - he can grow anything

He was once a commercial fisherman and also (what some called) a shade tree mechanic

He is an inventor and one of the "best" insulaters in the world

He loves the outdoors, nature, land, rocks, trees - he loves history, science & travel!

He is a very simple, down to earth, country man!

Thanks Larry for being all these things (and more) in our lives!

Happy Anniversary and Happy, Happy Birthday! We love you!
